With a healthy pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Advisor to join our team. The role will be part of the project management team and help embed a safety culture across our sites. You will focus on the coordination and administration of our safety processes and ensure compliance to our safety and client requirements.
What you'll do: Develop and implement project-specific safety management plans that align with client requirementsFacilitate High Risk workshops with the project management teamProvide daily guidance and direction onsite to ensure safety issues are appropriately assessed and risks are mitigatedMonitor compliance with the safety standards, systems and proceduresEnsure both personnel and plant/equipment are appropriately inductedAssist the site team with prestart briefings, training and toolbox meetingsComplete site inspections, reporting on the findings and following up on the implementation of corrective actionsAssist with internal and external auditsManagement of incident reporting, investigations and recommendationsAssist with injury management processes and implementing Return to Work plansEnsure all required documentation, including permits, are up to date in our Hammertech systemReview of subcontractor safety documentation, ensuring compliance under statutory guidelinesAbout you: A passion for the construction industry and creating safe workplaces5 + years construction site-based experience in a safety-focused roleExperience in electrical/services aspects of construction (desirable)Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health and SafetyExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levelsStrong interpersonal skills including consultation, facilitation and negotiation skillsWell-developed time management and organisational skillsSound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislationHammertech experience (desirable)Driver's licenseA strong team focusHow you'll benefit: 5-day work week (exception of Site Managers/Supervisors who work 10 days in 14, with every other Saturday off)Investment in training with the aim to have the best trained workforce in the industryFree health assessments for all staffPaid parental leave for both primary and secondary care giversFast-tracked career development opportunities and support through mentoring, workshops and retreatsIndustry-leading internal communication channels to break down silos across sites, allowing staff to share ideas, lessons learnt and other resources.Kapitol values diversity and aims to build an inclusive environment that champions, embraces and respects differences.
