Student Services, UniSC Moreton Bay Campus, Petrie or UniSC Caboolture CampusLevel 7, $99,285 - $108,534 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuationFull-time, ongoing appointmentThe OpportunityAs the central point of contact for triaging student behaviour referrals, you will play a key role in identifying, managing, and assessing risks associated with student behaviour. You will be responsible for determining response priorities, coordinating resources, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken. This will involve gathering relevant information, conducting thorough case assessments, and referring cases to the 'Behaviour Assessment and Management' (BAM) team. Additionally, you will be responsible for recording and implementing recommendations, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive university environment.You willProvide triage, conduct initial investigations, assess risk and compile statements, reports, and briefs in support of formal University action, ensuring procedural fairness and natural justice are applied to all persons involved;Respond to student disclosures of gender-based violence, inappropriate, threatening or concerning behaviour and provide case management, including the development of risk assessments, communication plans, and safety planning for all parties;Provide interventions to students engaging in behaviour of concern, including students from diverse communities, and students experiencing mental ill-health;Provide support, advice and guidance on options and assistance to navigate the university's structure and processes and external reporting pathways to students who have experienced harm, particularly supporting students who have experienced gendered violence.About youYour experience in responding to individuals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, combined with a deep understanding of intersectionality as it relates to marginalized and vulnerable groups, will be invaluable. You have demonstrated awareness of the issues surrounding gender-based violence in a tertiary setting, and have effectively delivered training on responding to disclosures of sexual harm, family, and domestic violence. You bring strong collaborative skills, while also excelling at self-managing tasks and workloads, setting priorities, and planning and organizing in the face of unpredictable demands.You will possess:A relevant university degree and extensive relevant experience in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, social work, criminology, or a related discipline; and be eligible for registration with applicable professional bodies, e.g., Australian Association of Social Work (AASW), Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Asia Pacific Association of Threat Assessment Professional (APATAP);Demonstrated high level of skill and experience in providing trauma-informed responses to students;Demonstrated high level of expertise in case management and risk assessment, including capacity to manage complex case needs while balancing time constraints;Experience in data collection, report writing and analysis and expertise in the maintenance of comprehensive case records.Applications for this position close midnight, Sunday, 19 January 2025.Your completed application must include:A resume, and a response to selection criteria.
