The Role As a Senior Hardware Engineer you will focus on developing electrical and/or electronic solutions that meet internal and external customer requirements.
As a technical lead for related product solutions, you will be undertaking design and development activities, writing specifications and related technical documentation, conducting physical testing to requirements, along with coaching and mentoring other hardware team members.
The successful candidate will: Develop hardware architectures and product roadmaps for existing, new or evolving products. Develop system/subsystem product and project architectures. Develop specific engineering processes where required. Selection of procured specialist hardware items, products and related equipment. Manage integration and testing activities. Conduct, review and/or approve Electrical/Electronic Hardware designs and related artefacts. Plan, prioritise and deliver assigned tasks within the agreed scope, quality, schedule and cost. Report progress on assigned tasks and notify any potential schedule or technical issues. Lead the resolution of any identified technical issues and risks. Develop Hardware product structures in an integrated ERP/PLM environment. Mentor and coach other Engineers and Graduates in the team. About you Experience in developing new hardware solutions. Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic engineering that will allow you to gain CPEng. Experience in writing and/or reviewing hardware related documentation as per the engineering requirements and standards. Experience in designing hardware components using a number of formal design methodologies and tools. Experience in best practice principles for hardware design, development, testing and manufacturing. Experience using ERP/PLM systems. Knowledge of technology and technology trends in the Hardware discipline. Knowledge and experience across different hardware disciplines. Knowledge of Configuration Management principles and tools relating to Hardware. Ability to build strong relationships and engage with cross functional stakeholders and teams. A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
