About the opportunity
SA Power Networks is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Controls Team Leader to take ownership of this newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team on a permanent basis, where you will lead and shape the project controls function within the organisation.
Reporting to the PMO Manager, Substation & Engineering Services, this role is crucial for overseeing and managing project estimates, costs, and schedules to ensure projects remain on track, both financially and timeline-wise.
As a Project Controls Team Leader, you will provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the Primavera Schedulers and Substation Estimators, driving high performance and fostering a collaborative, supportive environment within the Project Management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate planning and scheduling of projects through Primavera across the project portfolio. Ensure that substation estimates are accurate and delivered in a timely manner. Resource management of the Substation & Engineering Services teams to ensure that project resources are effectively managed and utilised. Ensure alignment of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for projects between key systems (SAP and Primavera) Ensure automated (Power BI) reporting is operational and is delivering value to stakeholders. Coordinate project-related meetings and prepare progress reports. Track project progress, analyse data and report on project risks and potential issues for both cost and schedule. Prepare regular reports on the program portfolio health including the analysis of data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement. Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and coaching to team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by enhancing the use of Project Control tools, early identification of issues, and maintaining data accuracy within systems. Essential role requirements
Degree in Engineering, Finance or equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience Experience in Project Controls, Project Management, and/or Project Scheduling Current SA Drivers licence (Class C) Experience with Primavera and SAP (Highly Desirable) What we offer
