Why work with us: The Office for Early Childhood Development was created to champion change and to help build a system that gives all South Australian children a flying start to life.
Guided by the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care, the Office for Early Childhood Development is the steward of the early childhood development system in South Australia.
The Office is tasked with a significant responsibility: bringing together a holistic, connected system for early childhood development across South Australia, with the goal of reducing the rate of children entering school developmentally vulnerable. Critical to this is the roll-out of universal 3-year-old preschool from 2026, giving every child access to 2 years of teacher-led, play-based early learning before school.
About the role: The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a unique role where you will lead data analysis and reporting to track the progress of key early childhood reforms, drive evidence-based decision-making, and help shape the future of early childhood services across the state.

Collaborative Data-Driven Insights: Work closely with Local Teams and stakeholders to source data, prepare detailed reports, and drive evidence-based decision-making that enhances sector progress. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure the optimal use of data and influence the direction of reform programs. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, refining data management, reporting tools, and methodologies to support ongoing changes within the OECD. About you: This role is perfect for an experienced analyst who thrives on challenge and is passionate about using data to create meaningful impact in early childhood services. You will have the opportunity to shape data strategies that directly influence future planning and decision-making in one of the most impactful sectors in government.
To thrive in this role, you will bring the following key skills and experience:

Project Management Skills: Proven track record in leading strategic projects, including managing requirements, conducting research, and providing expert advice on complex issues. Autonomy & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to work under broad direction, exercising independent judgment and creativity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Strategic Engagement: Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to influence outcomes and achieve results. Communication Proficiency: High-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner for diverse audiences, including senior government officials and the public. Commitment to Equality & Safety: Knowledge and dedication to fostering an inclusive and safe work environment, adhering to Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety legislation.
