About the Role: The Cloud Engineer is responsible to the Cloud and Digital Platform Architect for the operation of key ICT Systems and/or infrastructure which operates in, or interfaces with cloud infrastructure within the Department for Education. The position creates, maintains and configures cloud resources and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that are requested by the Department. The position will provide management of cloud resources and services, including monitoring, governance, cost and best practices. The Cloud Engineer is also responsible for contributing to engineering initiatives from inception to implementation, and larger projects that require cloud engineering skills including the development of project proposals, solutions and other deliverables. The Cloud Engineer will adhere to the department's cloud engineering best practices and will collaborate with staff in ICT Services, key business representatives, and external vendors and suppliers to deliver desired outcomes.
Qualifications: Desirable: Relevant Cloud Platform certifications. Relevant Tertiary Qualification in either Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Special Conditions: The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
Remuneration: ASO6 $98,478 - $104,165 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
