Retention bonus of $5,000 paid following 1 and 2 years of full-time service + Temporary accommodation for 8 weeks + Remote allowance. Working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm only + Access to free and confidential Employment Assistance Program + 5 weeks paid annual leave per year. About Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation
Maari Ma Health is an Aboriginal community-controlled regional health service that has been providing a quality service to the Aboriginal people of far western New South Wales for more than 20 years and employs over 140 people within the region.
About the role
Our supportive team is on the look-out for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join us to provide a quality health service to the Aboriginal people of far western New South Wales. Reporting to the Team Leader, Ngama'linya Yapar'na (Child & Family Health), this full-time opportunity includes key responsibilities such as:
Working as part of the Child & Family Health program based at the Broken Hill Primary Health Care Service and providing outreach services to Wilcannia. Providing a leadership role in the delivery of our paediatric allied health team-based care service. Providing a range of services in the community including clinic-based, school-based, and community-based services. Acting as the senior therapist in the allied health team, coordinating and monitoring therapy delivered by the allied health assistants. Teaching, mentoring, and clinical supervision of Allied Health Assistants. Collaborating with our staff to facilitate effective communication, teamwork, and high clinical standards. Establishing and building lasting relationships with our patients, families, and GPs. Traveling within the Region may be required with some overnight stays. Skills and experience
Currently registered with, or eligible to be registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist. Demonstrated experience working with and an understanding of NDIS participants, NDIS plans, and billing requirements. Ability to work with Aboriginal staff and communities in a way that fosters mutual respect. Demonstrated clinical experience in a range of diagnosis including but not limited to early intervention (0–6-year-olds); school support; learning difficulties; developmental delay. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of primary health care and how they relate to child health and development. Computing skills relevant to the position and competent in the use of information and communication technology including Microsoft Word, email, and internet applications.
