Anatomical Pathologist
The Department of Anatomical Pathology is looking for a Specialist Anatomical Pathologist to fulfill the below positions details:
Employment Type - Temporary Fixed Fulltime (12 months).
Location - Across Eastern Health (i.e.
Box Hill, Maroondah, Angliss, Blackburn, Lilydale and Healesville).
12 months Maternity and Long Service Leave cover role.

To be successful in this role the following will be required of you:
Consistent demonstration of clinical competency.
Assume Anatomical pathology functions for patients at Eastern Health.
You will be required to use your provider number for billing, in the Medical Director's absence.
This will involve working full-time during the Director's absence.
Participate in the standards for high quality, consistent with the principles and practice of anatomical pathology within the Department.
Actively support Department junior medical staff and provide appropriate supervision in the provision of pathology services.
Provide regular supervision and advice to junior staff when advice is requested.
Ensure that the Registrars communicate appropriately with specialist staff and other staff in the pathology department.
Ensure that urgent requests are attended to promptly.
Review existing practices and promote change either based on evidence or if other change is required.
Review the adequacy of relevant clinical documentation.
Participate in pathology departmental activities as required by the Head of Anatomical Pathology.
High levels of professionalism and working relationships with all co-workers.
Punctuality and reliability in attendance.
Capacity to work across different hospital sites within Eastern Health.
Undertaking of specific tasks under assigned portfolio/s for administrative work, audit, patient safety and clinical guideline development, teaching and research as allocated by the Clinical Director of Anatomical Pathology or his/her representative.
Professional representation of the department and hospital internally within Eastern Health and externally in the broader health system.

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.
