The Telecommunications Interception Unit (TIU) Mission Statement is 'to provide an effective, contemporary telecommunications interception capability for the Queensland Police Service to investigate serious, major & organised crime'. The position can be quite challenging at times due to the level of demand for TIU services in support of other covert and overt investigative strategies.

TIU staff work closely with QPS investigators throughout the State as a support to operational policing, particularly for serious & violent offences. TIU is located on Level 6, Queensland Police Headquarters, 200 Roma Street, Brisbane.


The core capability requirements for this role are: Compile and maintain staff rosters in consultation with the Officer in Charge/Team Management, according to budgetary, Industrial and operational requirements.Monitor and report to the Officer in Charge/Manager on unplanned leave trends.Assist with the management of special service requirements, including invoicing and reconciliation of returns.Maintain divisional training records and monitor training requirements for all employees.Maintain and monitor all equity requirements and associated budgets as outlined in the relevant Industrial Instrument. Process correspondence, statistics and associated returns in accordance with approved procedures and maintain necessary records.Provide advice to employees regarding relevant Industrial and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement matters.Identify improvement opportunities using a continuous quality management approach to problem solving. This includes collaborating with colleagues, facilitating quality improvement activities and acting as a change agent in response to agreed changes.Role Requirements: Mandatory: The successful applicant will be required to undergo a psychometric assessment prior to appointment, if successful, there may be a requirement to undergo regular psychometric assessments.
Technical/Operational/Educational Experience: Experience in processing expenditure vouchers and financial record keeping is highly desirable.
