Our client is seeking a Senior Optimisation Developer to join their dynamic team on a FTC. This critical role involves leading the development of real-time power system operation software solutions, engaging with subject matter experts and business stakeholders, and supporting readiness and transitional activities. The successful candidate will become the subject matter expert within the team, ensuring ongoing support and enhancements for the software delivered.
As a Senior Optimisation Developer, your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of power system operations. You'll be at the forefront of developing innovative software solutions, working closely with integration teams and other development teams.
Key Responsibilities: Lead engagement with SMEs and internal stakeholders to develop critical power system operation software solutions, primarily focused on developing WEM dispatch solution. Work closely with Project Managers and Project Leads to deliver software solutions. Support Production Readiness activities and material development. Collaborate with Principal Test to prepare for and manage Participant Interface Testing and Market Trial activities. Identify risks to Go Live and implement actions to mitigate risk. Lead engagement and consultation with internal support teams in order to develop transition to support plans and materials. Provide ongoing support and enhancements for the Power Systems. Minimum Requirements: Proven experience building or supporting algorithmic systems, preferably in the energy sector or other utilities. Significant experience in linear programming or similar analytical development experience required. .net language proficiency preferred along with strong project delivery skills. Experience in power system/power market operation or power system planning preferable. Understanding of the WA Govt's Energy Transformation Strategy (ETS) and the proposed WEM Reforms preferable. Excellent stakeholder relations capabilities with ability to form strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholders. Significant experience dealing with complex business requirements and providing robust solutions in a timely manner. Proven analytical skills, ability to deal with complex issues concurrently, propose evidenced-based solutions to issues and execute solutions constructively/timely. Demonstrated experience in developing technical documents. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
