Scope: Day to Day management of Road transport and material handling equipment
Location: This position is located in Port Hedland. Port Hedland is a coastal town located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The principle duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Plan, organise, direct, and control workshop staff. Ensure all aspects of safety are used as per Site / Finmec Safety Management plan. Responsible to ensure all maintenance documents are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the on-site maintainers. Manage and ensure all manufacturers warranty guidelines are followed. Ensure all warranty claims are completed and submitted within time frames. Preparation of quotations. Overseeing the purchasing of materials, parts and tools for a smooth progression of repairs. Review and approve invoices. Preparing job cards for team including planning and scheduling. Dealing with external companies in relation to jobs. Dealing with internal communications and new employees. Mentoring and teaching of team members. Using available resources in an efficient manner to complete jobs. Ensure housekeeping in work areas is maintained to a high standard. Ensuring all repairs on machines are completed in a cost efficient, timely and safe manner. Check over all work after completed and ensure everything is up to Finmec Standards. Completing mechanical repairs and maintenance as required – Hands on. Skills required: Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent motivational and mentoring attributes. Ability to provide positive leadership, manage people & resolve conflict. Sound ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities, complex problem solving and working under pressure. Previous experience in a supervisory role desirable but not required. Previous experience in managing manufacturers warranty processes and systems. Trade qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic. Extensive experience in the maintenance of road transport equipment and manufacturers processes. Advanced diagnostic skills. Proactive and highly motivated. Work planning and scheduling skills. Firm understanding of safety in the industry and dedicated commitment to safety. Sound computer literacy. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Sound customer relationship building skills and dedication to customer satisfaction. Current full West Australian "C" class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State.
