The Position We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our established team on a full-time basis.
Key requirements and responsibilities: · Carry out all vehicle inspections
· Identify mechanical faults and undertake repairs in engines and parts such as Diff, Gearbox and General Engine repairs
· Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired – such as dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
· Ability to carry out A,B,C service and repairs on heavy trailers equipped with BPW, K Hitch and Hendrickson intraax axles
· Undertake service and maintenance procedures, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with regulations
A successful candidate will have: · Relevant trade qualifications to work on heavy commercial vehicles (Certificate III or IV)
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in the service and repairs of heavy road transport trucks
· Good knowledge of CAT, CUMMINS and DETROIT Engines
· Experienced with BPW and K-hitch axles
· Welding skill (desirable)
· Understanding of electrical circuits (desirable)
· Attention to detail and excellent workmanship
