Its aim is to deliver a range of cultural, medical, health and wellbeing services to both the local Indigenous and non-Indigenous community. Budja Budja is the Traditional Aboriginal name for Halls Gap. The Clinic is in the heart of the Gariwerd/Grampians National Park, in Country shared by Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali Traditional Owner Groups.The OpportunityWe seek an enthusiastic, bright and dynamic person, who is team-orientated, to join our friendly and supportive team in our Medical Clinics located in Ararat and Halls Gap. We are looking for an experienced RN Practice Nurse who is passionate about patient education and has excellent communication skills. This is a part-time position from 0830-1700, with no after hours or weekend work.The RoleTasks will include but are not limited to:Wound careVenepunctureRecalls and RemindersTriage managementImmunisationsHealth AssessmentsTreatment room assistance as requiredPatient education, support and building links to the communityStock maintenance and orderingBuilding relationship with Indigenous communityRequired Knowledge and ExperienceThe successful applicant will have:Current AHPRA RegistrationBackground working in a busy General Practice and/or primary health settingExperience in Chronic Disease Management and Health Assessments an advantageThe ability to perform all general practice nurse duties, such as immunisations, procedure assistance, wound dressing, stock ordering, etc.Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care to people with complex needs or persons that come from a range of backgrounds and age demographicsDemonstrated ability to work autonomously, with the skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlinesAbility to manage within a workplace setting with fluctuating levels of demand.Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to respond to patients' needs in a friendly mannerA team focus and flexible approach to workThe ability to manage reminder and recall systems effectivelyExperience with Medical Director (an advantage)About youThe applicant must be passionate about achieving positive outcomes, highly empathetic, and culturally competent. You should be able to build effective relationships with all stakeholders and take a holistic approach to assessing clients.
