Your Why: The purpose of this role is to provide expertise and first-line controls, compliance, and risk assurance support to management.
This role is crucial in driving awareness, understanding, and change in risk and controls, creating a centre of excellence for controls and enhancing ubank's control environment.
You will assist management in developing systems, processes, and controls to identify, assess, quantify, and manage business risks.
As a Risk Enablement Consultant, You Will: Advise business leaders on applying the operational risk and compliance management framework to evaluate risks and achieve business outcomes.
Engage and manage stakeholders to improve business systems and processes through the integration of the risk and compliance framework.
Support the refresh and maintenance of the ubank risk profile.
Identify, design, document, and assess controls to mitigate key risks and obligations.
Ensure safe project changes by identifying impacted risks, obligations, and controls, and documenting impact assessments.
Support the identification, raising, and management of events, including rectification steps, root cause analysis, and process improvements.
Develop and maintain compliance plans in consultation with risk and compliance partners.
Complete compliance obligation assessments.
Provide business-specific input for risk deep dive reviews, internal audit reviews, assurance reports, and action plans for ineffective operational controls.
Enhance risk management maturity and practices.
Assist in regulatory responses and engagement matters.
Support effective record-keeping in the ubank risk management system.
Your Experience: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or Law are advantageous.
2+ years of experience in operational risk management.
Experience in the banking industry, including supporting executive-level stakeholders.
Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong planning and execution capabilities, along with commercial acumen.
Excellent time management skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Thorough knowledge of risk management and compliance disciplines.

This is a Sydney based role, and the successful applicant will need to hold citizenship or a permanent residency visa of Australia or New Zealand.
