Job Description APS5 Security Compliance Officer Approximate 12-month contract with possibility of extension | Canberra Location | $55.40 - $59.20 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation | Negative Vetting 1 Mandatory OVERVIEW Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Security Compliance Officer to join their team at the APS5 level.
Within this role you will be responsible for coordinating security compliance activities, and application of policies and procedures which protect the department from security risks and vulnerabilities.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and triage compliance assessments and enquiries that relate to workforce security arrangements and outcomes.
Manage a section mailbox and coordinate advice determinations and escalations.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department's security policies and procedures, including reporting, records management (TRIM), and compliance activities.
Contribute to the achievement of Section and Branch objectives.
Support the Branch to deliver timely and consistent responses on policy compliance and security matters.
Develop an understanding of legislation, policy, and regulations that support recommendations relating to security issues/policy.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework Experience with government records management and filing systems.
Initiative and can think strategically to apply sound judgement in decision making while working with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal - with experience drafting correspondence, and compliance and assurance reports.
Proven ability to build and manage enduring relationships with key stakeholders to achieve operational and policy outcomes.
The ability to harness and analyse information from a variety of sources to support the dissemination of security advice and outcomes.
