Position Overview The Risk and Compliance Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting Accordwest's compliance and risk management activities. This position is responsible for the administration and support of risk and compliance functions, as well as quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure the integrity and control of documents and data, conduct research into risk and compliance functions, and manage various compliance administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Risk Management: Identify, assess, and document risks; develop and implement mitigation strategies; monitor and review risk management processes.ICT Application Platforms: Oversee risk documentation using CAMMSRISK; ensure effective monitoring and reporting of hazards and risks; manage platform configuration and maintenance.Quality Management: Maintain quality systems and processes; establish and maintain quality standards; provide training on quality management.Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures; ensure effective communication of policies.Project Support: Support planning, execution, and monitoring of risk and compliance projects; conduct research to support project initiatives.Reporting: Prepare regular reports on risk and compliance activities for the leadership team and the board.Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs on risk management, compliance, and quality management; promote awareness of risk and compliance.Legal and Compliance: Provide compliance advice; monitor adherence to legislation and internal policies; ensure compliance with funding body program policies and contract obligations.Teamwork: Contribute to a positive team culture; maintain effective working relationships; participate in team meetings and organizational training.About you You have a strong background in risk management and compliance, with the ability to identify, assess, and document risks, develop and implement mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to legislation and internal policies. You are proficient in using ICT application platforms like CAMMSRISK to oversee risk documentation, monitor hazards, and manage platform configuration. You are skilled in maintaining quality systems, developing policies and procedures, supporting risk and compliance projects, preparing detailed reports, and delivering training programs. You thrive both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, judgment, and a strong commitment to excellence.
You are a highly professional and confidential individual with exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. You excel at managing conflicting priorities and meeting tight deadlines. Your advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office 365 and related business communication systems make you an asset.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management or higher qualification.Minimum of 2 years' experience in risk management, or related field, preferably within the social services sector.Experience in the application of quality management systems and processes.Understanding of risk management and compliance principles and practices.Strong understanding of ICT platforms and risk management tools.Excellent communication and training skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Highly Desirable Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Compliance, Business Administration, Quality Management, or a related field.Professional certification in risk management or compliance (e.g., CAMS, CRISC, or equivalent).ISO 9001 Auditor Qualification or equivalent in quality management systems is highly desirable.Salary and Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
