Job Description
As a Risk and Business Continuity Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the LG's readiness and response capabilities. Reporting to the Audit and Risk Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Advising local government leadership on identifying, assessing, and preparing for disruption risks.
Formulating, designing, and implementing risk and business continuity initiatives, programs, and frameworks.
Providing strategic and operational advice to senior leaders on emerging business priorities and initiatives.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders to foster collaboration.
Delivering tailored risk analysis, continuity reports, training sessions, and presentations across all organisational levels.
Developing risk treatment plans that support sustainable, evidence-based practices aligned with local government strategic goals.
Managing and maintaining the local government's risk management systems to ensure accurate records and compliance with relevant standards.
Leading municipality-wide risk management and continuity planning efforts, monitoring implementation, and effectiveness.
Analysing changes in strategic, fraud, and corruption risk profiles, providing insightful reports to relevant committees.
The Successful Applicant

The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Extensive experience in risk management and business continuity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Proven track record of building effective working relationships.
Ability to develop and implement comprehensive risk treatment plans.
Knowledge of relevant standards and compliance requirements.
Leadership skills with a proactive and strategic mindset.
