Job Description About the role - Permanent, full-time

We are uplifting our risk maturity and culture in the Member Experience (MX) Lending and Insights division at People First Bank. Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, MX, your primary function will be to provide first line risk advisory and controls monitoring services to senior management and their staff within this division.

The key objective of this role is to be the 'voice of risk and compliance' in Line 1 and help ensure the MX business is meeting People First Bank's risk and compliance management and risk culture expectations by appropriately balancing risk with the growth aspirations of the business.

Other key responsibilities include:

Demonstrate compliance with policies and procedures to effectively operate within People First Bank's risk appetite. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to their role by keeping up to date with communications and assigned learning.Support and develop a Risk Advisory Analyst, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of assigned risk and compliance activities.Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in portfolio and the broader business to ensure risk is managed and that there is understanding of the desired risk culture.Support Line 1 business capability development as it relates to Risk and Compliance, utilising PFB policies and procedures.Work in consultation with second and third lines of defence (Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit).Ensure all practices comply with regulatory obligations and aligned with the People First Bank's internal policy and procedure.Implement learnings from risk management and remediation activities to develop business and people capability in the Division in terms of risk and compliance education and assurance. Location:

Ideally, we are seeking applicants based in Adelaide or Brisbane, but will consider applications from all locations for this role. We encourage you to put thought into how the work may be undertaken given your location and what support you may require.

About you:

We are seeking a professional with significant experience in a 2nd or 1st line risk or governance capacity, ideally within the financial services sector, who has a strong knowledge of best-practice tools and techniques for effective analysis and root cause identification. You will be someone who confidently interacts with and influences stakeholders, helping to foster a positive risk culture while knowing when to constructively challenge. You will also have fluent written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create and present detailed Risk reports. In this role, you will measure your success will be measured by the quality and effectiveness of your risk advice and support that enables compliant and risk-based business decision making and implementation to occur in a timely and well controlled manner with a balanced risk versus reward mindset.

You must also be able to demonstrate the following:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Risk Management.Strong working experience within home lending is highly regarded.Proven financial services industry experience in an equivalent role for a medium to large organisation.Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to contribute to the development of operational policies, procedures and guidelines.
