The reason for this role: The Rigger is responsible for safely and efficiently rigging loads for lifting and moving by crane.
This role requires a thorough understanding of rigging techniques, load dynamics, and safety protocols to ensure all lifting operations are conducted without incident.
The Rigger will work closely with the Crane Operator to ensure the successful completion of lifting tasks.
Please note this role will be working a structured roster whilst on site and you will be based at Camp whilst on shifts.
What you will be doing? Select and inspect rigging equipment, such as slings, shackles, and chains, to ensure suitability and safety.Attach rigging equipment to loads according to specifications and load charts.Signal, direct, and communicate with Crane Operator to ensure safe lifting, moving, and placement of loads.Monitor load stability during lifting operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure safety.Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.Team Collaboration: Work closely with Crane Operators, Site Supervisors, and other team members to coordinate lifting operations.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of rigging equipment inspections, load weights, and lifting activities.What does your background look like? Minimum 5 (+) years of experience as a rigger in the construction, oil and gas, or heavy lift industry.Experienced with heavy lifts over 100t.Experienced with Malty crane lifts over 100t and load transfer.Proven experience with various rigging equipment and techniques.Familiarity with load charts, crane dynamics, and rigging calculations.Strong understanding of rigging and lifting principles, including load calculations and safe working loads.Ability to read and interpret lift plans, and engineering drawings.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear and concise signals and instructions.Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.Skills/Certifications Needed: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 20kg.Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.Certification in rigging HRWL RB/RA.EWP.Working at Heights.Goldwind Australia offers all their employee's excellent benefits, career development pathways, support and ongoing training.
