About the Role This newly created position of In-House Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and support to the business across a wide range of commercial issues. Partnering with stakeholders across the organisation, this position will be responsible for: Providing accurate and timely legal advice to Repurpose It across corporate, commercial and employment law matters, as well as regulatory compliance issues Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, and monitoring the performance of these Providing advice on the legal implications of business decisions and proposed strategies Supporting the preparation and submissions of company secretarial documentation Overseeing the development and implementation of governance frameworks Developing risk mitigation strategies and reporting to the Board on these matters Developing and delivering training across the organisation on a range of legal matters This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Epping, with travel to our sites in Montrose and Hallam sites as required. About you The following skills / licenses / experience are also required: Law Degree (LLB) and Admission to practice in Victoria Proven experience in a mid or top-tier firm, with a strong background in corporate / commercial law Knowledge of and experience in practicing employment law and regulatory compliance are desirable but not essential Excellent negotiation and influencing skills Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders A passion for sustainability and in furthering the circular economy Why Repurpose It?
