Salary: $80000 - $90000 + Superannuation per year
Job Overview: Gaskos House of Fresh is looking for Retail Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the grocery store, ensuring that the store runs efficiently, profitably, and meets customer expectations.
This role involves managing staff, inventory, customer service, and sales targets, while ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety regulations.
The Retail Manager must create a positive shopping experience for customers and maintain high store standards.
Key Responsibilities: Team Management:Supervise, train, and develop staff, including department managers and front-line associates.Assign daily tasks and set performance goals for the team.Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recommend training and development opportunities.Foster a positive, motivated, and productive work environment.Handle employee issues, including conflicts, attendance, and disciplinary actions.Customer Service:Ensure a high standard of customer service by monitoring staff performance and addressing customer complaints or inquiries promptly.Implement and enforce company customer service policies and practices to enhance the overall customer experience.Maintain an inviting, clean, and safe store environment to ensure customer satisfaction.Sales and Financial Management:Achieve sales targets, manage store budgets, and control costs, including labor, shrinkage, and overheads.Develop and implement strategies to increase store profitability, including promotions, pricing adjustments, and seasonal product offerings.Analyze sales reports to identify trends and opportunities for growth.Inventory and Merchandising:Oversee inventory control, including stock levels, rotation, and ordering of products to minimize waste and ensure product availability.Ensure proper merchandising and stocking of grocery items, ensuring that displays are attractive, organized, and aligned with company guidelines.Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure the store has competitive pricing and product offerings.Compliance and Safety:Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies, including food safety standards.Conduct regular store audits to ensure the store meets operational standards, including cleanliness, inventory, and safety protocols.Manage cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with security protocols.Operational Efficiency:Coordinate store opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and security checks.Manage store equipment, including refrigeration units and registers, ensuring they are in proper working condition.Implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve the overall customer experience.Communication:Maintain open lines of communication with the Store Director and District Manager regarding store performance, staff issues, and operational concerns.Conduct regular team meetings to ensure all employees are aligned with store goals and company policies.Qualifications: Diploma or higher qualification in business administration, or a related field (preferred).Must have 2 years' experience in retail sector, preferably in the grocery or food industry in Australia/OverseasStrong understanding of market research, sales strategies, and customer service.Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of fruit and vegetable products and their market dynamics is a plus.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 20 Kg for extended periods.Must be able to bend, kneel, and reach to stock and retrieve products.Ability to work in a refrigerated environment for short durations.Working Conditions: Retail store environment with varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Fast-paced work environment, especially during peak business hours.How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and qualifications.
