About the position The Anchorage has a variety of dining and food offerings across the property, including The Galley Kitchen, which was previously awarded Best Restaurant in a Hotel & Resort at the 2020 R&CA Savour Awards for Excellence; the sophisticated Moby's Bar, which is home to a selection of the world's finest whiskies, smartest cocktails, and wonderful wines; and our recently built Poolside Bar, which offers refreshing drinks and poolside nibbles.
This award-winning crew is casting a line out for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team and oversee the culinary operations at our exquisite dining establishments. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of service, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for our guests. Key responsibilities include:
Lead, inspire, and manage a team of culinary professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.Provide guidance and support to front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including reservations, guest services, and staff scheduling.Implement and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.Proactively seek feedback to continuously improve the dining experience.Set restaurant in line with booking requirements and customer requests.Break down and clean the restaurant.Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance skills and uphold service standards.Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Prepare and serve barista-standard coffee.Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails and presentation of wine.Facilitate room service, taking orders and delivery.Follow RSA government legislation requirements.Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house areas.Set up and break down of functions and events on site.Oversee and manage daily opening and closing procedures.This position will require availability for split shifts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service across a 7-day rotating roster. Our seasonal peaks run through summer, public holiday, and school holiday periods; availability during seasonal peaks is essential.
Certifications required: RSA
This role will require you to complete a criminal check during the Pre-Employment phase of the selection process (cost covered by Wests). About you We are seeking passionate senior Food and Beverage professionals with a minimum of 2 years' management experience in a fine-dining setting, ideally in a hotel environment. Good knowledge of wine or exposure to presenting wine in a restaurant setting will be highly regarded. You will have exceptional customer service skills, a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and the ability to maintain high standards in a busy and demanding position. Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to provide guidance and mentoring to staff is essential to the success of this position. Ability to speak multiple languages is highly desirable.
