Rohde Nielsen is looking for a dedicated and professionally skilled lawyer to take on the position as Senior Legal Counsel, reporting directly to the General Counsel of Rohde Nielsen, Kasper Høy Hedegaard (who reports to the CEO).
You will be supporting within a wide range of legal areas, including construction law, shipping and maritime law, procurement law, general contract law, insurance law, compliance matters, disputes, and HR. In undertaking such tasks, you will interact with various internal and external stakeholders.

You will be working from the offices at Rohde Nielsen's headquarters in Kastrup, close to Copenhagen Airport, the metro, and highway.
The role requires approx. 20 days of yearly travelling, mainly to where the projects are performed.
LEGAL TEAM
As Senior Legal Counsel at Rohde Nielsen, you will be part of a small legal team consisting of two lawyers; you and the General Counsel. You will be close to where the business decisions are made, working with legal issues internationally, and you will have a great opportunity to work independently and be the trusted advisor to all parts of the organization.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role as Senior Legal Counsel, you will play an essential role in driving the legal efforts in Rohde Nielsen.
Your main responsibilities will be the following:
Proactively supporting the project department before, during, and after contract award.
Drafting and negotiating all types of contracts, including cooperation agreements, charter contracts, joint venture agreements, purchase contracts, supplier agreements, etc.
Generally advising and supporting the business within a variety of commercial legal areas, such as company law, construction law, shipping and maritime law, insurance law, etc.
Managing international litigation in close cooperation with the company's external legal counsels.
Assisting in relation to HR matters.
Advising on and managing compliance matters (e.g., in relation to GDPR related issues).

IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Education:
You are a qualified lawyer (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or international equivalent) with a strong academic legal background combined with preferably approx. 5 years of practical experience within relevant legal areas, ideally from a commercial environment such as a law firm and/or a group function in a larger private company.
Legal areas:
You have competencies within corporate and commercial law. Experience with construction law, maritime and shipping law, insurance law, or procurement law would be an advantage. Further, you have solid contract law experience and are experienced in structuring, preparing, and negotiating terms and conditions of different types of commercial contracts, e.g., FIDIC, AB18, and BIMCO. You may also have experience with compliance and GDPR.
Industry:
Ideally, you have practical experience from the construction and/or shipping industry, or from a construction or shipping department of a law firm.
Language skills:
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English, and substantial experience with legal English in relation to drafting and negotiating. Other languages, such as Spanish, would be an advantage.
