New Funding and New Beginnings Thanks to new funding, Life Without Barriers is expanding its Therapeutic Residential Care Services in Metro / Geelong. This funding allows us to enhance our programs, provide additional resources, and open new residential houses. With this support, we are committed to delivering the highest quality care and making a lasting impact on the lives of those we support.
About the Role As a Casual Residential Support Worker, you will:
Work directly with young people in a 24/7 Residential SettingFollow fortnightly rotating shift rosters, including afternoons, evenings, active nights, and sleepovers, with weekend work requiredSupport young people with complex behaviours and disabilities, catering to their individual needsCreate a safe and nurturing environment to promote their well-being and developmentKey Responsibilities Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and transport to children and young peopleActively participate in activities and increase competencies of young peopleForm and maintain professional, nurturing relationshipsDevelop, implement, and monitor individual plansActively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skillsMaintenance of progress notes and report writingSkills & Experience Prior knowledge and/or experience working with young people in Residential Care programs (essential).Hold or actively working toward a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar (essential).Completed Top Up Units in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (CHCMHS007, CHCPRT009, CHCCS009, CHCPRT010) (essential).A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain if successful) (essential).Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the weekSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
