Applications are sought for the position of Resident Boarding House Tutor to commence January 2025. The Resident Boarding Tutor will provide support to House Supervisors by assisting with the general routine of the house. They will offer pastoral care and academic support to the girls in their care.
The position is a 'live-in' position and therefore is required to attend Boarding on rostered weeknights on duty, sleepover and attend required special events. The Resident Boarding Tutor will be responsible for the nighttime operation of the residence assigned to their accommodation.
The Resident Boarding Tutor is expected to complete the Australian Boarding Schools Association Duty of Care Course and maintain relevant qualification with regards to management of Boarders.
The position involves:
10 hours of tutoring students per week (Years 6-12) in return for the provision of accommodation and meals during school term time. Experience with tutoring Mathematics and Science subjects is an advantage, but all subjects will be considered.Overnight duties from 10.00pm – 7.00am four nights per week (with a paid allowance).Rostered paid extra work to assist with early wake-up calls for boarders, accompanying boarders on outings, supervising a house, extra tutoring or organizing extra activities – minimum 8 hours supervisory hours.The provision of furnished shared onsite accommodation (must provide own linen).The provision of all meals (during school term time), power and access to internet.Accommodation is provided all year round including school holiday breaks, but only work during the school term weeks.It is essential the successful applicant has a genuine desire to work with adolescent girls who are living in an environment away from their homes, and an ability to relate to adolescent girls and their carers.
The successful applicant must hold, or be eligible to apply for, a Paid Blue Card prior to appointment and have their name submitted to the Anglican Church's Professional Standards Register and be able to support the Anglican ethos and Code of Conduct of St Hilda's School.
