The National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training is a partnership between 15 University and 19 Government and Industry organisations and is headquartered at Flinders University Adelaide, South Australia.
The NCGRT brings together researchers and professionals to pool their knowledge and expertise.
Our vision is to enhance Australia's environmental, economic and social wellbeing by promoting and supporting Australia's groundwater research effort and fostering the conversion of this research knowledge into resource management outcomes and capability in the groundwater sector.
About the Role The Research Support Assistant provides administrative support to the Centre Co-Directors and Manager, NCGRT. They also assist in the efficient operations of the broader NCGRT team and provide a wide range of administrative support while contributing to a proactive and positive customer service culture. This includes:
Preparation of agendas, taking minutes, formatting reports. Providing support for NCGRT events and training, such as booking rooms, organising catering, and setting up events. Identifying and disseminating information about research and funding opportunities through a range of communication channels. Email and calendar management and database management. Please note, this is a 12-month position commencing December 2024, with possible extension into 2026.
About You Your keen attention to detail will allow you to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and demonstrate a commitment to high quality service delivery. Your effective oral and written communication skills ensure you are able to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
You will also demonstrate:
The ability to apply your analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail across multiple areas. Exemplary organisational, administrative and time management skills. Proven ability to work proactively and collaboratively within a team and independently. Well-developed computing skills in using office computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite. Experience in creating and maintaining webpages or databases, creating e-newsletter campaigns and the administration of events/function organising are all highly desirable.
You will also have completed a degree, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
