In this role you will undertake scientific research with annual and perennial legumes, grasses and herbs, mainly for 'Mediterranean' environments in Western Australia, but also for temperate and tropical environments. The research areas can be breeding, physiology and/or agronomy according to current and future projects.Pasture science is an exciting area of research with opportunities to interact across other disciplines such as livestock management, soil science and crop production. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders contributing to the development of sustainable farming systems across Western Australia.We are looking for individuals with:Enthusiasm and a passion for pasture research.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with departmental staff, industry, and the community.Sound knowledge and understanding of scientific research.Ability to deliver agreed outcomes and projects within specified timeframes.Equity and DiversityAt DPIRD we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce and are an equal opportunity employer.
