Full-time temporary up to 12 months About the role The Research Officer provides specialist scientific contribution to a range of scientific research and support services, under the professional direction of the Laboratory Head and Cancer Immunotherapy Group Leader in the Translational Oncology Laboratory at the Centre for Cancer Biology, Adelaide.
This includes conducting laboratory-based research, contributing to professional research planning functions, the sourcing, analysis and reporting on research data and information, and the maintenance and expansion of existing research networks, information-sharing and the building of research capacity within the group.
The successful candidate will be a motivated individual capable of taking initiative and demonstrating creativity in a cutting-edge research field, with prior knowledge and experience in the field of immunology, including relevant laboratory techniques.
The work that the Research Officer delivers contributes to the achievement of defined objectives, and the testing of stated hypotheses, with the purpose of acquiring and communicating new knowledge of value in the field of cancer immunology and immunotherapy.
The role provides an opportunity to participate in a dynamic translational research environment in the Adelaide Bio Med city precinct, with a focus on the design and validation of Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell-based therapies in preclinical models.
Essential Requirements: Bachelor of Science (Honours) or other Bachelor's degree covering fields relevant to the area of research Expert knowledge of immunology and tumour biology Proven experience in high-parameter flow cytometry, microscopy, cell culture and processing of human or mouse biological specimens, and animal tumour models Current National Police Clearance (NPC) Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description.
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
