Conduct recruitment, follow-up, and data management for the RAd Health clinical trial on adolescent health intervention in general practice.Participate in impactful epidemiological research that can shape primary care policy and practice for adolescents.Salary packaging, subsidised health and wellbeing services, fitness and cultural clubs, Myki discounts, and a 25% discount on graduate courses to our staff and their immediate families!About the Role The research officer will work on the RAd Health trial, a randomised controlled trial aimed at improving adolescent health outcomes through rebate payments for health assessments in general practice. Based in the Sexual Health Unit of the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and collaborating with the Department of General Practice, the appointee will manage participating general practices, recruit and follow up with adolescent participants and manage clinic communications.
Your responsibilities will include:
In consultation with the project manager, assist with the recruitment of a cohort of adolescents and manage their data collection and follow up.Assist the project manager with the day-to-day operations of the trial including providing ongoing support to participating clinics.Assist with data collection including interviews, focus groups and surveys and analysis.Provide regular feedback to trial investigators and other stakeholders as needed.Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have excellent written skills with an eye for detail, demonstrated time management abilities to meet deadlines, and strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively.
You will also have:
A Master of Public Health or equivalent professional qualificationDemonstrated track record in independent or team-based research or evaluation in public health or primary careDemonstrated experience in working on large research or evaluation projects set in primary care including data collection and data managementDemonstrated ability to expertly apply research methodologies and undertake quantitative or qualitative data analysisFor further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.
