Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Research Officer supporting Melissa Baysari and her team, the Digital Health Human Factors Research Group . The team are undertaking important research aimed at understanding and improving the interactions between users, health technologies and organisations using mixed method approaches.
In this role you will be an active part of the team and contribute primarily to a research project evaluating a patient portal. You will design research protocols, undertake core aspects of research work and contribute to analysis and reporting of research findings.
Your key responsibilities will be to: contribute to the design of research programs/projects in the work area
conduct data analysis and literature searches, aid in preparing preliminary reports for the work area
conduct research work, including qualitative and quantitative data collection, as part of the broader research agenda for the work area
manage the development and submission of research publications for the work area
ensure that ethics guidelines, standards and WHS requirements are met for the work area.
About you Bachelor Honours Degree - Health Sciences or relevant health discipline (e.g. nursing, pharmacy)
experience in a research-intensive environment with previous experience in the collection, analysis and reporting of research data
experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, research design, ethics submissions and grant applications
knowledge, experience and appreciation of health services research and the research sector broadly
ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, and managing invoice payments and purchases
strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.
working understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety.
