About the Role The Research Officer, based at the ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation, will support the "A-Part of the Crowd" project funded by the Medibank Better Health Foundation. The project aims to co-create a care model for young Australians (18-25) experiencing loneliness during life transitions by collecting and analysing their stories through creative submissions on a crowdsourcing platform. This role involves working closely with the lead investigator, Professor Victoria Palmer, and the research team to develop an interactive webspace and a responsive support model for these young individuals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design and conduct qualitative, participatory research and co-design activities as a member of a multidisciplinary, nationally focused research team Design protocols, obtain ethics, conduct and analyse study interviews or participatory observation as required. Prepare meeting agendas, note minutes and prepare these for distribution and sharing. Support workshop preparation where requested for the design, collection and analysis of qualitative data and crowdsourcing submissions. Who We Are Looking For
You will have excellent written, aural, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create project materials and follow research team instructions. Additionally, you will have experience and understanding of working within diverse communities, cross-cultural settings, and ideally with individuals with lived experience of mental ill-health.

You will also have:
Degree (or equivalent experience) in youth focused research, participatory research methods, or community based participatory research. Demonstrated ability to apply qualitative and design-based research methodologies including understanding recruitment and data collection processes Excellent written, aural and verbal communication skills. Ability to create project materials and follow instructions of research team members. Knowledge of submitting ethics applications and preparation of all ethics related materials and ability to develop understanding of online crowdsourcing. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
