About the Women's Research Office: The Research Office is responsible for managing and facilitating the scientific, ethical and governance review and ongoing monitoring of human research conducted at the Women's.
Governance activities within the Research Office include the review of institutional governance requirements for research, monitoring of research conduct for compliance with institutional, legislative and regulatory requirements, research governance procedure development, advising and guiding researchers on research governance and risk management.
About the role of Research Governance Officer: As a Research Officer, you will support the Research Manager in all administrative duties associated with research governance matters.
You will ensure that human research conducted by the Women's conforms to the requirements of the 'the Code', the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2023) and the NCTGF.
A regular day will see you:
Support the research review process, ethics & governance activitiesProvide training, support and advice to researchers developing their governance research applicationsSupport improvements to the implementation of best practice research governanceManage the relevant research committeesLead improvements to the implementation of best practice research governanceSupport projects and activities that will contribute to the implementation of the National Clinical Trials governance FrameworkAbout you: To succeed in this role you'll bring with you:
A relevant tertiary qualification in science/health/education or a related disciplineExperience and/or training in research ethics and/or governance processesRelevant experience in research management or demonstrated capacity to manage the complexity of research administrationDemonstrated ability to develop and implement new policies/procedures in a complex environmentKnowledge and experience of a biomedical research environment (especially in clinical trials)Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholdersAt the Women's, you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
