Griffith Criminology Institute The Griffith Criminology Institute (GCI) is a large, diverse, and high-performing group of scholars focused on crime and justice issues.

GCI hosts the Transforming Corrections to Transform Lives Centre.
The Centre's vision is to support mothers and their children to have safe, dignified, and fulfilling lives, breaking down intergenerational cycles of disadvantage and incarceration, by transforming systems and generating new knowledge for evidence-based programs.
Job Description The Transforming Corrections to Transform Lives (TCTL) Centre is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow who will make a major contribution to research design, data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and dissemination of findings, across the various work areas of the TCTL Centre.
They will provide high level research assistance as directed by the TCTL Centre Director and leadership team.
The Research Fellow may supervise Research Assistants for particular aspects of the Centre's research.
As a Research Fellow, you'll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change.
Here's how you'll make it matter: You will conduct research that contributes to the objectives of the Transforming Corrections to Transform Lives Centre.
You will develop a good publication record (Grade 1) or maintain a good publication record (Grade 2) in high impact, international, esteemed peer-reviewed journals.
You will draw on existing skills and experience to manage the preparation and formulation of publications, presentations and research reports arising from programs, training, evaluations and other research and activities of the TCTL Centre.
This is a fixed term (to 30 June 2027), full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Mt Gravatt).
As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University's sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range The full-time base salary for a Research Fellow, Grade 1 is in the range is $86,526 - $101,354 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $101,236 - $118,585 per annum.
The full-time base salary for a Research Fellow, Grade 2 is in the range is $110,464 - $131,180 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $129,243 - $153,481 per annum.
The successful candidate will be appointed at either Grade 1 or 2 depending on experience, skills and qualifications.

You will also have: a PhD or equivalent qualifications/work experience in a relevant field (e.g.
psychology, criminology, social work, etc).
strong skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and a demonstrated ability to conduct collaborative research in multidisciplinary and multi-institutional teams.
demonstrated experience in research design, evaluations and field-based data collection, particularly with respect to working with criminal justice affected individuals or disadvantaged populations.
high level interpersonal skills and highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
high-level organisational skills, be self-motivated and able to demonstrate a high level of individual initiative, discretion, attention to detail and judgement.
demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to meet competing deadlines and work effectively as a team member.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: experience with correctional environments; experience working with community stakeholders/service providers; experience working with a family systems or developmental systems approach.
You should hold a valid driver's licence for Queensland .
