Research Ethics & Governance Officer Permanent full time (part time may be considered)$74,000- $82,000 per annum (FTE)Hub of the medical precinct & leading Children's HospitalFabulous employee benefits including salary packaging and onsite parkingAbout the Role: We are seeking a Research Ethics and Governance Officer to join the team in Research Ethics & Governance at the RCH on a Permanent Full Time basis.
As the Research Ethics & Governance Officer, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating research ethics and research management for the campus. In addition, the team is responsible for research monitoring, a clinical audit approval process, ensuring all research meets relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, policy development, and the provision of researcher support and advice.
What you'll achieve: You will be involved in facilitating the ethics approval process for researchers wishing to conduct human research by providing advice and guidance on documents to be submitted for approval, checking submitted documentation, data entry, and liaising with researchers, ethics reviewers and committee members.You will provide executive support to the RCH Human Research Ethics Subcommittee/s and provide general administrative support to the department.You will identify non-compliance with procedures and policies that may jeopardise either the ethical approval or governance authorisation of research projects or the active research licenses and permits held by The RCH.Your skills and experience: Technical/administration training with several years' experience or equivalent work experience.Demonstrated experience in effectively utilising and managing administrative processes and procedures.Experience in continuous improvement and great attention to detail.Experience within a Research Ethics & Governance Office with an interest in the requirements involving ethics and governance submissions will be highly regarded.Other requirements: Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.Valid Working with Children Check.Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.Application process: To apply, you will need a resume and a tailored cover letter outlining your skills, experience, and suitability for the position in line with the requirements of the position description.
