Office of Research | UniSC Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs or UniSC Moreton Bay, Petrie Level 6, $90,038 - $97,437 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation Full-time (36.25 hrs p/w), ongoing appointment The Opportunity As a Research Contracts Officer, you'll support the Manager, Research Legal in handling contract administration, due diligence, and governance processes for UniSC's research initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with the Research Funding Team and UniSC researchers to negotiate and finalise research contracts, ensuring risk management and facilitating research funding. This role requires you to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, playing a key part in advancing UniSC's research agenda and supporting the Office of Research's goals.
You will assist in the triage of research contracts and agreements to assess requirements for due diligence and administrative contracts management; support the governance required for research contracts, agreements, and subcontracts from initial negotiation with external partners to execution; and ensure researchers comply with internal requirements and understand the contractual milestones and other key obligations. About you You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail that ensures precision in your work. Your ability to apply initiative, sound judgement, and problem-solving skills allows you to co-create and implement innovative solutions in consultation with stakeholders. You're highly organised and efficient, demonstrating well-developed time management skills that help you prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Your commitment to delivering high-quality service is evident through your user-friendly, responsive approach to client interactions, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all.
You will possess: completion of a relevant undergraduate degree combined with experience in contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated experience working with external legislative and governance frameworks and internal organisational policy and governance structure; and a demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures and apply within the workplace; strong capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team, including supporting other team members on a project-by-project basis and the ability to develop effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including with external legal service providers; and high level of digital literacy and comfort learning to use process tracking and information management systems.
