About the role This is an outstanding opportunity for Electrical Engineering candidates to work on an industry-funded (Oztron) project with world-renowned senior researchers and industry experts. The position will provide significant opportunities for patents, high-impact publications, and the opportunity to work with stakeholders from the power and energy sectors nationally and internationally.
As a Research Associate you will:
Contribute to relevant research, including designing studies, preparing applications, and data collection; Undertake project management and research governance, in conjunction with the Project Leader, including preparation of ethics applications, reports as well as progress and final reports; Contribute to the establishment, building, and strengthening of collaborative relationships; Conduct research and contribute to relevant high-quality outputs including peer-reviewed papers, reports, and conference presentations. As a Research Fellow you will:
Participate in CfNETR project(s) in power converters and its application to renewable energy technologies; Conduct research in power converter design, control, development, and testing; Contribute to the ongoing prototype development for a smart inverter; Perform administrative functions primarily connected with the trailblazer project. About you Working under the broad direction of the project leaders and industry partners, you will work collaboratively with other research project members.
As a Research Associate you will possess:
Understanding and knowledge on hardware design, development, and testing experience in power electronic converters; Understanding in communication technologies such as ZigBee, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth; Knowledge of simulation skills in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent. As a Research Fellow you will possess:
Experience in hardware design, development, and testing in power electronic converters; Knowledge and experience in communication technologies such as ZigBee, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth; Demonstrated simulation skills in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent; Experiment skills in digital signal processors, programming, and circuit testing; Experience in using various laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power sources; Demonstrated experience in preparing and publishing research material, including reports and presentations.
