This role will primarily involve working with mouse models and employing various molecular biology techniques.
The role involves hands-on lab work, including tissue processing and immunostaining, with opportunities to contribute to data analysis.What we will trust you withPerforming molecular biology techniques; cloning, qPCR, FACsData collection and analysis of resultsSample preparation for testingAnimal handling, particularly in mouse workPurchasing, ordering and organizing shipments as neededLab and equipment maintenanceComplying with Work, Health & Safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environmentCollaboration with other lab membersDoes this sound like you?BSc with Honours in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field or equivalentMinimum 1 year of experience in rodent handling, including drug administration (oral, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous injections) and anesthesia inductionProficiency in tissue harvesting, molecular biology techniques, cloning, and cell cultureStrong written and spoken communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsBasic data analysis and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamAbility to balance multiple projects and responsibilities effectivelyWillingness and motivation to gain relevant research expertise and learn new techniques and methods quicklyAbout usThe Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (the Institute) is dedicated to finding cures for cardiovascular disease and is one of the most respected heart research facilities in the world.
