Research AssistantJob no: 518294 Work type: part time Location: QEII Medical Centre / SCGH Categories: Research support Full-time (0.25 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 6 months.Base salary range: $74,450 – $79,085 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.About the areaA cancer genomics research laboratory is working on developing novel biomarkers and approaches for cancer diagnosis and prevention.About the opportunityYou will be required to assist with molecular and next-generation sequencing processing of samples.You will also provide support and help liaise with clinical staff for patient recruitment, sample collection and initial stages of sample processing.Prepare patient samples (blood and saliva) for genomic sequencing.About youYear 12 or equivalent competency.Relevant research experience in conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research in human disease.Experience with a range of molecular techniques including extraction of, and analysis of nucleic acids.Knowledge of epigenetic regulation of histone modification.Strong lab experience in ChIP-Seq and/or CUT&TAG.Note: Some after hours work may be required.Please apply online via the Apply Now button.
