Located on the Camperdown Campus at the Charles Perkins CentreEstablish and build analytical capacity associated with large biobank repositories and statistical geneticsBase Salary, Level A/B/C: $109,301 - $173,492 p.a + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityWe are currently seeking to appoint two research-focused roles to work in the Data Hub at the Charles Perkins Centre.
The

Research Associate / Senior Research Fellow (Data Hub Statistician)

roles will be integral to the establishment of the Data Hub, a new initiative of the Charles Perkins Centre to increase capacity in data-intensive research using large biobank repositories with direct translational impact in biomedical and metabolomics health research.
The Data Hub will enable

context-specific data analysis

on collaborative projects.The Charles Perkins Centre is a world leader in its unique approach to bringing together and aligning the University of Sydney's many disciplines to find solutions to and advance our knowledge and understanding of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease and related conditions, their causes, and societal impacts.
This creative approach aligns depths and strengths to find solutions to the growing pandemic of metabolic disease.Responsibilities

Establish and build analytical capacity associated with large biobank repositories and statistical geneticsEstablish workflow for the processing, integration, and curation of Biobank dataFacilitate collaboration that involves novel statistical models and machine learning algorithms to better analyse large genomic data sets, such as the UK Biobank and other modern genomic data sets of similar scale.About you
