Research Assistant - Advancing Epilepsy Research Job No.: 665716 Location: The Alfred Centre Employment Type: Full-time Duration: 12-month fixed-term appointment Remuneration:  $80,464 - $109,203 pa Level A (plus 17% employer superannuation) Amplify your impact at a world top 50 University Join our inclusive, collaborative community Be surrounded by extraordinary ideas - and the people who discover them The Opportunity Are you passionate about advancing epilepsy research and improving patient outcomes?We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to contribute to the goals of our Epilepsy Research groups.You will be part of cutting-edge clinical trials funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), working towards a better understanding of the disease, discovering novel treatments, and preventing premature mortality in epilepsy.Key Responsibilities Conduct high-standard clinical research, including the development of SOPs, risk assessments, and safe work instructions.Optimize patient recruitment for neurological clinical trials and achieve recruitment targets.Assist in experiments, clinical data collection, and analysis, and prepare results and reports.Create and maintain research databases, manage data entry, and coordinate data sharing requests.Stay updated on developments and protocols in your area of expertise through liaison with peers, reading relevant literature, and attending meetings and seminars.Schedule and monitor patient recruitment, manage Human Research Ethics Committees (HREC) submissions, and liaise with the Alfred Health Human Research Ethics Committee.Coordinate current and future clinical trials with Principal Investigators and sub-Investigators.Ensure informed consent and maintain high ethical standards in research, following Good Clinical Research Practice Guidelines.Participate in Quality Management activities and maintain a safe work environment by reporting any incidents of unsafe practices.Conduct research under limited supervision and contribute to conference and seminar papers and publications.Key Selection Criteria Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent qualifications;
