Job no :0059908Location : ParkvilleRole type: Full-time; ContinuingDepartment : Research, Innovation and CommercialisationSalary: UOM 6 – $96,459 - $104,413 p.a. plus 17% superSupport Melbourne University's research by providing quality advice and administrative supportShowcase and build your communication and stakeholder skillsExcellent staff benefits with 17% super!About the RoleAs Research Grants Officer (Rover Team) you will work across the lifecycle of research grants, providing pre-award support such as reviewing grant proposals, as well as the post-award administration of research funding.In the Idea to Proposal area, you will focus on supporting academics to identify funding opportunities and submit high quality grant proposals to a range of sponsors. In the Contract to Output area, you will support the negotiation and establishment of appropriate grant agreements, and ensure that record keeping practices are upheld.Reporting to the Team Leader, Research Grants and Projects, you will complete time-limited assignments within each of the Grants Teams in the business unit, providing exposure to a range of funders, grants schemes, and internal stakeholders. You will liaise with research funders to plan, oversee and develop new workflows, and provide high quality advice to stakeholders.Your responsibilities will include:Provision of pre-award administrative grant support such as reviewing grant proposals to ensure eligibility and competitiveness against scheme requirementsContribution to pre-award planning and preparation including the review, submission and acceptance of grantsProvision of post-award administrative support for funded researchNegotiation (where necessary) of sponsor terms and conditions to support researchers, the University's and sponsor objectives and compliance obligationsProviding high quality advice and information to academic researchers and Faculty-based research administratorsDevelopment of continuous improvement and best practice in pre-award grants administrationWho we are looking forWe're looking for someone who demonstrates independence and sound judgement and has the ability to liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Your customer-centric focus will ensure you build and maintain strong working relationships.You must also be prepared to be flexible in your approach to work and able to work in a wide range of team environments.You will also have:Tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/trainingExcellent administrative and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work to competing deadlinesDemonstrated capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies and proceduresExperience in delivering information sessions/seminars or other presentations will be highly regardedFor further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position .
