The position based in Broken Hill will enable you to live and work in one of the most unique and interesting parts of the Country.The Far West of NSW is over 30% geographically of NSW and has a long history in the grazing and farming industry while the role will also allow you the chance to report on the most historic and vital mining region in Australia.With the Darling River and Menindee Lakes only an hour's drive from Broken Hill you will be part of the team on the ground covering water issues which are vital to the area.The Silver City is Australia's only heritage listed town and has all the facilities expected of a modern and vibrant community boasting a large number of restaurants, hotels and cafes.Reporting to the Editor, ABC Broken Hill, your key responsibilities will include:Creating radio packages for state and national radio programs and audio on demand, filing digital news of the day and feature articles, and contributing to our TV and video on demand platforms.Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.In consultation with colleagues, identify and develop local rural and primary industry content that can be shared with other content teams across the ABC on multiple platforms.
