About the Role This role shares with the Principal and the Leadership Team the responsibility of:
educational and spiritual leadership.the development of a Christ-centred faith community.ensuring Catholic perspectives are embedded across all subject areas.The role of Religious Education is a Senior Leadership position and is on the school's leadership team.
This position is to be held by a practising Catholic who is committed to the Catholic faith and the spiritual well-being and growth of all.
Key Responsibilities Build capacity and support colleagues to know and understand the approved Religious Education Curriculum and Moran's Model of Religious Education.Exhibit exemplary practice and lead colleagues to implement contemporary pedagogy that improves student learning.Provide pedagogical leadership, supporting teachers in developing, implementing, and evaluating classroom religion teaching and learning programs.Build capacity and support colleagues to embed Catholic perspectives across all subject areas.Create a culture of ongoing improvement, formation, and professional learning.Embed collaborative practices in the school to improve educational outcomes.Develop, facilitate, and promote Religious Education Professional Learning opportunities.Collaboratively develop, facilitate, and promote Christ-centred faith formation experiences.Be an effective member of the School Leadership Team.Lead the school community in faith and build a culture of faith and learning.Manage the Religious Education budget and resources.Collaboratively develop, facilitate, and promote the school's Catholic social justice initiatives.Qualifications Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registrations.Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.Must be a qualified Teacher with a minimum of five years' experience.Must have completed or be willing to complete Accreditation D and E.To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school, a teacher must:
Be Catholic;Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest;Have completed or be due to complete Accreditation D.Selection Criteria Has experience in leading and building the capacity of staff in the Religious Education curriculum.Has experience in leading change and demonstrates contemporary pedagogy.Has experience in evaluating and using data to inform learning.Demonstrates effective communication with stakeholders.Has experience in working closely with priests and the parish community.Other Eligibility Criteria You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment.Application Process Applicants are required to submit a current resume and a cover letter that addresses the selection criteria as outlined in the Position Description.
