This will also include sampling, auditing, and other regulatory initiatives informed by intelligence and data analysis to educate and evaluate regulatory compliance.We are seeking proactive individuals with demonstrated experience in law, investigations, or undertaking regulatory activities, including investigations and proactive regulatory initiatives, with a sound understanding of investigation principles, processes, and practices. The successful applicants will have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and facilitate early resolution of issues between parties.You will have policy, research, and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability in the analysis of data using quantitative and qualitative approaches, including the capacity to compile and interpret complex data/issues rapidly and accurately in reports/communication.Key responsibilities will include:Plan, prioritise, and manage a caseload of files within set time frames to achieve high-quality outcomes, including maintaining key relationships, providing responsive customer service, and meeting organisational goals.Undertake a range of regulatory work relating to the legislation, by collecting information from members of the public and/or agencies; undertaking research; reviewing and analysing documents; interpreting legislation; issue identification, problem solving, exercising alternative dispute resolution; making findings or recommendations and preparing reports/correspondence.Ensure effective, regular, and timely communication with parties by providing information and guidance to the public and agencies through tailored communication to clearly explain concepts, including the legislation and its interpretation and application; obtaining and clarifying information and, where appropriate, undertaking the informal resolution of complaints; write fluently and accurately.Identify systemic or significant non-compliance issues; anticipate, identify and address issues and potential problems and select the most effective solutions from a range of options; work collegiately on devising appropriate responses.Support and facilitate improved agency compliance with legislative obligations, including undertaking projects and working collaboratively to contribute to the development and implementation of business processes and service delivery improvements.The successful candidate:Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in law, investigations, or undertaking regulatory functions.Demonstrated experience in undertaking a range of regulatory activities, including investigations and proactive regulatory initiatives with a sound understanding of investigation principles, processes, and practices.Sound experience in undertaking performance monitoring, reporting, and measuring activities in a public sector environment.The role sits within the Investigation and Reporting Team, which consists of 20 staff members that undertake reviews and complaints. The role will report directly to a Senior Regulatory Officer on a day-to-day basis.This role will primarily be reviewing decisions of agencies in relation to GIPA and Privacy legislation.Tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in law will be highly regarded.Prior regulatory experience is required, preferably around administrative law in particular.Highly developed analytical, written, and verbal communications skills are required.What's on offer?This contract is available for an initial 8-month term with likely extension options.This role can be performed from Sydney CBD – Hybrid working.Candidates must have full Australian Work Rights.How to Apply:Please upload your resume to apply.
