Our client is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Advisor to ensure adherence to regulatory standards within the retail energy sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance, facilitating growth, and upholding the organisation's reputation as an industry leader.
Key Responsibilities
Staying abreast of regulatory changes impacting the retail energy sector. Developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Conducting regular compliance assessments and audits to identify areas of improvement. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures. Providing guidance and training to staff on compliance-related matters. Acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies and authorities to ensure alignment with industry standards. Analysing and interpreting complex regulatory requirements to ensure compliance across all facets of retail energy operations. Participating in cross-functional teams to develop and implement compliance initiatives. Monitoring industry trends and best practices to inform compliance strategies and processes. Preparing and submitting regulatory filings and reports as required. Developing and maintaining compliance-related documentation and records. Proactively identifying and mitigating compliance risks within the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance within the energy or utilities sector. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards governing the retail energy industry. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Certifications in regulatory compliance or related fields are desirable.
