The Role The key purpose of this role is to provide high-quality veterinary care to animals at The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University.
This role is a 0.5 FTE (two days per week) position primarily focused on providing primary care to horses in an ambulatory setting.
This position focuses on building strong client relationships to develop a sustainable caseload, ensuring consistent and quality care.
A key aspect of the role is to offer primary accession cases for student exposure, contributing to their hands-on learning experience.
The vet will primarily work in an ambulatory setting, with no after-hours expectations, and will have access to specialist backup and hospital care when needed.
What you'll bring to this role Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Surgeons' Board of Western Australia. A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a veterinary practice, post qualification. Excellent organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines. Highly effective communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation. Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment, to foster positive relationships with clients and to grow primary opinion caseload.
