Role Overview • Shift based role operating within a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays with appropriate shift allowances and entitlements as compensation.
• Opportunity to work as part of a small team managing the Bail and Remand Court listings.
• Work closely with Judiciary, police, prosecutions and other stakeholders.
About us The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role The registrar forms a part of a five-person team within the Bail and Remand Court unit working to support the needs of the court across day, evening and weekend shifts. The Bail and Remand Court is a critical service ensuring access to justice to accused at all times. This role provides a great opportunity to develop skills and the ability to work with more autonomy and gain experience across different registries.
About you Must be a Deputy Registrar having completed the MCV Trainee Court Registrar Program. Strong registrar skills and the ability to work as part of a small team managing constantly changing priorities. Ability to multi-task and work closely with a variety of stakeholders.
