About Us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the Role
After Hours Registrars work across a roster that covers 24 hours a day, seven days a week all year round including weekends and public holidays. Appropriate benefits are built into the salary package to compensate for this including shift allowance and extra annual leave.
The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to provide precise advice to stakeholders with regard to the requirements of warrants and applications and to work closely with Judiciary to ensure all applications are managed in an efficient and timely manner.
About You
The After Hours Registrar Registrar role requires strong technical skills combined with the ability to work autonomously and independently. After Hours team members are often working a shift alone and must be able to exercise professional judgement and make decisions in accordance with legislative requirements and established rules and precedents.
This role also requires the ability to work closely with the Judiciary and external stakeholders.
