The opportunity
The purpose of the position is to enable Registered Nurses enrolled in an Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) accredited postgraduate midwifery program to gain clinical experience in a maternity setting, within a partnership model of supervision, in support of their theoretical learning.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the requirements of the training programme including the midwifery experience is required.
The midwifery student will work in partnership with the midwife to provide a safe environment for women and babies by:
Assisting the midwife to complete delegated responsibilities as outlined in the midwifery course curriculum. Working with a preceptor/mentor within the workplace to develop personally and professionally. Maintaining a safe environment for self and others in the workplace. Role requirements
Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is an essential qualification for this position. 12 months post-graduate Registered Nurse experience (evidence to be provided). Acceptance, or ability to apply, for a suitable Postgraduate midwifery university program. Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties. Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster including night shift. Generous remuneration package value up to $89,499 p.a. comprising:
Salary rates between $41.73-$53.53 p.h. (NG5). Annual leave loading + leave. 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
