REGISTERED NURSE SPECIALTY CARE - INTENSIVE CARE UNIT - PRN VARIESJob Location: Maryville, IL

DescriptionJob Summary: Provides safe and effective delivery of patient care, utilizing a systems theory approach, through assessment, goal setting, and outcome evaluation.
Will practice within the parameters of the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act and Anderson Hospital policies and procedures.
Practices autonomously and in accordance with professional nursing standards, providing care to primarily adult and geriatric populations.
Performance expectations are defined in the competency evaluation.
Service and Quality Standards:Service: Adheres to customer service standards, is competent, caring, and compassionate, treats coworkers and customers with dignity and respect, demonstrates competent behavior to customers and coworkers.People: Assures confidentiality of patient and employee information, is positive and courteous in interactions, promotes a harassment-free environment, inspires trust, and acts in accordance with hospital policies.Quality: Is excellent in patient care and service, demonstrates multidisciplinary cooperation, assists in obtaining excellent satisfaction scores, is safety conscious, and supports performance improvement efforts.Growth: Demonstrates commitment to hospital mission and vision, is active and involved, supports hospital initiatives, champions innovation, and fosters team cooperation.Finance: Is a good steward of hospital resources, develops efficient work methods, and conserves organizational resources.Job Responsibilities:Completes mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner.Supports the Patients Bill of Rights by respecting cultural, religious, and ethical diversity.Responds appropriately to alarms, hospital codes, and safety issues, including required documentation.Effectively utilizes nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes.Engages in activities to expand and enhance the professional nursing role, integrating research and evidence-based practices.Provides leadership and autonomy in the professional practice setting.Provides age-appropriate and population-specific patient care in a safe and efficient manner to adult and geriatric populations.Assesses patient and family learning needs, provides ongoing education, and documents outcomes.Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to hospital policies.Maintains knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.Demonstrates flexibility to meet staffing needs of the department.Maintains education requirements by participating in continuing professional education activities.QualificationsEducation Requirements: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Certification/Licensure: Illinois licensed or eligible.
BLS certification required.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year experience in telemetry/critical care preferred.
Required to complete the following within 1 year of hire:
ACLS certificationEKG testCritical Care Class/85% Passing Grade on TestModerate Sedation - Required to complete annual testing.Applicant will be required to complete orientation and annual competency standards as outlined by hospital policies.
Working Conditions: Exposure Category I: Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
